At least 40,000 Mamang Pulis have completed a personality and spiritual development seminar aimed at infusing Christian values among policemen. The graduates, comprising of 33 percent of the PNP force, completed the Purpose Driven Life Seminars supervised by the PNP Directorate for Human Resource and Doctrine Development headed by Director GERMAN B. DORIA.
The seminar is based on a book written by Rick Warren and released in 2002. It was one of the New York Times bestsellers and considered as one of the 100 Christian Books that changed the 20th century.
"The job of a police officer is not only hazardous but also vulnerable to corruption and malpractices. The PNP leadership sees it fit to infuse and integrate Christian Values to truly achieve the desired transformation of the organization," said PNP Spokesman Chief Superintendent NICANOR A BARTOLOME.
PNP Chief Director General AVELINO I RAZON JR hopes to increase the number of policemen graduating from the seminar. RAZON also wants misbehaving officers and men to undergo a training program that is anchored on spiritual, moral dimension, counseling and discipline.
